Following the theme of  The Year of Russia in Monaco, Arternativelight presented abstract paintings by Anastasia Starovoitova from Moscow. Her  works   are filled with the enrgy of feeling,  their multilayered deep colors reveal emotional state, and  zest for life of contemporary people: hedonism; angst; emotional turmoil. While the symbiosis of energy and emotion first appeared in abstract works of the Russian avant-garde, artists of the last century, Anastasia continues their tradition – albeit in a less cold and academic way: her abstractions express our emotions  and feelings.

Other works by Russian artists which featured  in  the show were: paintings by Marta Grigorieva,   collage in an original technique called  “pieces art” by   Darya  Usova,  both residents of Monaco, and abstractions by  Alexander Beridze from Paris.

At the centre of the Chapiteau was the bronze figure of a gymnast, sculpted by the British artist Eleanor Cardozo. Around the perimeter of the show, Ana Tzarev, an artist and gallerist from New York, displayed  her portraits of Samurai warriors and series of birds paintings .

The exhibition   opened with a charity Gala dinner and concert,   featuring the opera diva, Carly Paoli – a special ambassador to UNICEF. Among the guests   were Venonika Borovik, Top Secret publishing house, Moscow, Bruno Alberti, Chic Radio Monte Carlo, Dimitri,  Prince of Yugoslavia, Urate Guraskaite, Editor-in-Chief of InStyle Russia, Malaysian investor and philantrpist Sir Francis Yeaoh  Sock Ping, Gerard Spinelli, mayor of Beausoleil, Sabina Stevenson, Artis Foundation, art  collector Paolo Sardi, gallerist Таtiana Yasinek from Milan, the president of Russian  Culture Society in Monaco – Natalya Berioza,  and a multitude of  socialites of Monaco and the French Riviera.
